Mitsubishi decided to be creative with their Lancer and tuned it up to raise it to the luxury level. Introducing the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, a line of sports sedans that are manufactured to give patrons the dynamic performance of a sports car and the luxury and comfort of a sedan. Because of these perks, Mitsubishi initially intended the car to be exclusive to the Japanese market. But it seemed like the charisma of the Lancer Evolution was just for the international market. This was why in 1998, they allowed Ralliart dealer to distribute the car in the United Kingdom and other European markets. The rest was history.
