Also known as the Mazda Capella, this middle-sized car sold in Japan from 1970 to 2002. The car is also known as the Mazda 626 in other markets.
This model was also said to be specifically made to compete against existing car models of other prominent Japanese car brands like the Honda Accord, Toyota Corona, and the Nissan Bluebird. It was also said that it has been used by Ford, Mazda's international partner, to produce the Ford Telstar and Probe.
The name Capella came from the brightest star in the constellation Auriga.
