Kei car is a category of the smallest and highway-legal car in Japan. The vehicle measures 11.2 ft and 4.9 ft and runs on a 660cc engine with a maximum power output not more than 63 BHP or brake horsepower. Kei became successful in Japan although it was deemed too small for export markets and thus fitted with bigger engines. The car and its owners received tax breaks and parking certificate exemptions from the Japanese government.
