Honda’s classic Z Series stopped production in August 2017.
The classic motorcycle is commonly known as the ‘Monkey Bike’. Dubbed the “Monkey” because of its riders ‘looking like monkeys’, the Z series started out as a popular attraction at Honda’s own motor sports theme park. With its 50 cc four stroke engine, collapsible handlebars and small and light body for easy storage, the convenient motorcycle quickly became popular in the late 60s after its market release. However, with the increasingly tighter emissions regulations and shrinking market, Honda announced its plan to cease production of the bike, ending its 50-year history.
