Honda Motor Co originally created the N-Box to give a spacious yet easy-to-drive vehicle for young families in Japan.
The car proved to be popular though with a current price of US$7,500 and low tax rates for being a kei car. The car reached target sales, but were not able to reach the targeted audience.
In a recent assessment, the Honda N-Box seemed like the car more popular to owners aged 50 and above. According to Kiminori Murano, the managing director of Tortoise, a dealer of mini cars located in Tokyo, this can be mostly due to the fact that after the children have grown and go on their separate lives, the elderly people tend to switch to smaller kei cars. And N-Box, having the greatest space possible for small cars, seemed to be getting all the attention.
