The Datsun 240Z is also known as the Nissan Fairlady Z in Japan. It is known by the name Nissan S30 in the U.S. The famous car was designed by Yoshihiko Matsuo, the head of Nissan's Sports Car Styling Studio.
It was the first generation of two-seater cars produced by Nissan from 1969 to 1978. The car raised the standards of Japanese cars to other international luxury brands.
The Datsun 240Z has a four-wheel independent driving system utilizing the MacPherson technology in the front, and Chapman in the back. It also has twin SU one-barrel side-draft carburetors which were later on replaced by a Hitachi barrel beginning 1973.
