The Toyota MR2 was a sports car marketed globally by the Japanese car giant, Toyota. It was a two-seat, mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive car first released in 1984. The model was later on marketed in three generations: W10 (1984–1989), W20 (1990–1999) and W30 (2000–2007).
The car was considered to be small, from the inside, to the engine, to the trunk: just enough for a six-footer guy. It had a straightforward design, which includes the famous Mac Pherson strut front, the signature Toyota rear suspensions and the superior transverse-mountained inline-four engines. The car was actually named as such becuse of its features. MR2 means mid-ship, run-about, 2-seater or mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive, 2-seater.
