The Nissan 300ZX, the successor of Nissan 280ZX, is also known as the Fairlady Z in Japan, sold from 1983 to 2000. It was sold in the United States from 1984 to 1996.
The chassis, which was first introduced in 1983, had a hatch with both the Datsun and Nissan badge. Thus it was known as the Nissan/ Datsun 300ZX in the US. In other parts of the world, the car was only known as Nissan. In 1985, Nissan standardized their brand names on all their cars across the world. This is the time when they finally dropped the Datsun name.
