The Last Story is another role-playing game first released in 2011. It was developed by Mistwalker and AQ Interactive for the Wii video game console.

The story happened in the island-like fortress of Lazulis, a world slowly being drained of life. It focuses on Zael, a mercenary who wanted to become a knight. Eventually, he received the mystical Mark of the Outsider, and met a noblewoman named Calista.

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the man behind Final Fantasy, was also the one who directed and co-written this game.
