Let us all give our thanks to this person who created the Gundam for us.
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Yoshiyuki Tomino started making waves in the Japanese animation industry as the storyboard and screenplay artist of the the phenomenal Ozamu Tezuka work, Tetsuwan Atomu or more popularly known as Astro Boy. He then got involved in a lot of animes in the animation studio, Sunrise, until he created Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979, the very first installment of the phenomenal work. He even got a Best Director award for the 2005 film, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: Heirs to the Stars. The award was given by the Tokyo International Anime Fair in 2006.
