Sailor Moon Crystal is the latest addition to the 20 year old shoujo animated series.
Released in 2014, the new franchise is still created by Toei Animation, and directed by Munehisa Sakai and Chiaki Kon. This franchise is actually just an adaptation and "digitized" version of the very first Sailor Moon series. This series has a total of five story arcs within the span of its airing from 1992 to 1997.
The first release of Sailor Moon Crystal covered the first two arcs of the original anime: Dark Kingdom and Black Moon. On April, 2016, the third season was released, covering the third arc, entitled Death Busters. Last January 2017, the fourth arc was released.
