The film sequel to the animated series, Tanya the Evil, revealed its newest promotional video on January 9,2018.
The February issue of Kadokawa's Newtype magazine reported that the film will be a brand-new work and will also include an interview with director Yutaka Uemura. Uemura told the magazine that the new film will be all about the events that follow the television anime. He noted that the movie will depict the change in relationship between Tanya and the top brass, as well as the development of her troops.
Uemura also noted that there were originally no plans to make a film after the series was finished, but the film was green-lit thanks to the support of fans. He added that the film will allow him to focus especially on the sound work for the film to optimize it for a theatrical presentation. In addition, he mentioned that he had recently watched Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk," and that it will definitely influence the presentation of the film.
This will premiere in summer 2018.
