Following the recent announcement of Overlord’s second season, Kadokawa finally lets the public take a peak on what they’d been expecting to see in the upcoming new season of the series.

Set in the year 2126 where popular virtual reality game Yggdrasil is about to shut down its servers, Player Momonga, a powerful wizard and master of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown, decides to spend his last few moments in the game as the servers close. However, to his surprise, he realizes that hecan't log out of the game, and NPCs started to have a personality of their own.

Stuck in this bizarre situation, Momonga starts investigating and taking control of this new world, with the hopes of figuring out what has caused this development and if there are others having the same predicament.

Overlord started out as a popular web novel written by Maruyama Kagane that was serialized in 2010 and has over 4.1 million copies printed worldwide.

The second season is set to premiere on January 2018 with OXT and Myth & Roid singing its official soundtrack.
