Nukekubi refers to supernatural entities or beings that appear as normal humans in daylight. They are a variant of Rokurokubi which can't remove its head and relies on its elongated neck to seek victims. The Nukekubi is much more violent than the rokurokubi as it can fly farther as its head is detached from the body. The Nukekubi becomes headless once it sleeps and detaches its head from the body. The head flies and searches for victims. If it finds one (an animal or human), it bites and sucks the blood of the victim. It's said that Nukekubis have been caused by curse due to misdeed or evil ways by a person. According to the Japanese legend, Nukekubi occurs in women.
