Neo Genesis Evangelion tells about the story when the meteorite struck the Antartica. As a result, half of the human population was wiped out. In 2015, the second impact survivors lived and explored the subterranean cities. Two beings exist in the second impact earth - the angels ( mysterious beings) and the human organization named Nerv tasked to pilot the colossal bio-machine called "Evangelion" and fight the alien beings named "Angels".

The protagonist in the story was Shinji Ikari, a 14-year old boy conscripted by his father who runs a secret organization to man the Evangelion. The Evangelion is humanity's last defence and it's enough to defeat the Angels.
