Monster Hunter World is a video game franchise of an action role-playing game that came from the Monster Hunter game released in 2004. It was made available for mobile devices, personal computer, home console and portable consoles. The player assumes the role of a monster hunter that traps or slays the huge monster in different landscapes. The player gathers resources, slays monsters and uses the loot from the monster to improve armour, weapons and other items to defeat powerful monsters. By March 31, 2019, the game has been sold 54 million units globally making it the second best selling game of CAPCOM.

Monster Hunter was developed by CAPCOm and created by Kaname Fujioka.
