Time travel and anthropomorphism takes center stage as the theme of Mamoru Hosoda’s newest animated film, Mirai no Mirai.
"Mirai no Mirai" follows the story of pampered four-year-old boy Kun-chan who struggles with having a new younger sister in their home, feeling that the affection of their parents was stolen from him. Soon, he meets the older Mirai, his sister, who has traveled through time sparking an unforgettable adventure that will strengthen the bond of the siblings.
Hosoda has previously directed critically acclaimed films such as "Wolf Children," "The Girl who leapt through time," and "Summer Wars." His time travel theme has been a great hit with fans since "The Girl who leapt through time," making "Mirai no Mirai" a highly-anticipated animated film of 2018.
The film is set to open on July 20.
