Mao Ichimichi is a well-known seiyuu or voice actress in Japan, not only for animes but also for video games. Her most-anticipated debut in Japan's entertainment industry was in 2011, as she portrayed Luka Millfy or Gokai Yellow in the Super Sentai show, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.

Since then she voiced prominent characters in animes like Sword Art Online II, Ai Tenchi Muyo!, and Digimon Adventure tri.

She debuted in Horipro Osaka's Jpop idol group, HOP Club. She used the name Rio Minami and was the seventh generation member of the group. In 2010, she left the group and made a career in Tokyo. She changed her stage name and re-started her career as a host of the Weekly Shounen Jump variety show, Sakiyomi Jan Bang!.
