There may be another place to find rare and premium manga aside from Comiket. At Mandarake, they offer second-hand Japanese comic books, with price suited for those who have tight budgets. With rare manga starting at just around 100 yen, one can buy unique finds as precious as orginal sketches from Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro.
Mandarake also offers anime toys, DVDs, CDs and other manga and anime merchandise, including VHS tapes.
Mandarake has a lot of branches across Japan: Nakano, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Akehabara, Osaka, Fukuoka. They also now have an online store to be accessed at http://www.mandarake.co.jp/
