Hello Kitty has been invading the world since 1974. And when Masao Gunji came into this world and had known this cute cat character, there had no stopping him on collecting all kinds of anime merchandise from one of the most influential iconic characters in the world.

Masao Gunji from Yotsukaido City in Chiba Prefecture in Japan has just received the Guinness World Record in for the largest collection of Hello Kitty items. He has a total of 5,169 memorabilias in his keeping. He said he has loved Hello Kitty because she seemed to be sad whenever Masao feels sad and feels happy too whenever Masao feels happy. Because of his collection, his house has become a Hello Kitty museum in the neighborhood.
