Who wouldn't thank him for bringing Doraemon to this world?
Hiroshi Fujimoto is part of the master duo mangaka under the pen name, Fujiko Fujio, the tandem who created Doraemon. Together with his partner, Motoo Abiko, they teamed up in 1951. But it was only until December 1969 when Doraemon was first published in 6 different children's magazines under Shogakukan.
Since then, Doraemon flourished into anime and now has even become an ambassador for Japan.
However even before Doraemon was born, they had already received recognitions like the Shogakukan Manga Award for Tebukuro Tecchan in 1963. In 1982, they grabbed the Shogakukan Manga Award for children's manga. Another notable recognition that they received in the very first Tezuka Osamu Cultural Grand Prize in 1997.
