Fumiyo Kono is a Japanese manga artist who is known for her manga Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms. She is the original manga artist of Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni which won an Excellence Award in Manga Division of Japan Media Arts Festival 2009.
Fumiyo Kono began drawing manga when she was in junior high school because her parents don't buy her manga. The literary style of Sanpei Shirato is her inspiration and Osamu Tezuka and Fujiko Fujio were her early influences.
