"Death Note: The Last Name" was the second movie of Death Note, based on the manga and anime series by Tsugumi Ohba.

The story of the second movie revolved around the life of Kira, who in real life was Yagami Light, and the second Kira, Misa Amane. When Misa Amane was arrested, she and Light lost their ownership of the Death Note and passed it to Kiyomi Takada. This was the set up created by Light Yagami just to prove that he was not Kira. 

"Death Note: The Last Name" was directed by  Shusuke Kaneko. The film was produced by Nippon Television and released on October 28, 2016.
