Hokkaido just proved once more that it is the iciest place in Japan with the opening of the country's ice-made village at the Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan. 

Being Japan's longest freezing lake, Lake Shikaribetsu has been transformed this year into a never-before seen neighborhood that would definitely drive you chilling. This event, wherein a whole ice village is created, will now happen annually, with the Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan Festival happening from January 26 to March 21, 2019. The event is only available during the coldest months of the winter of the year. 

Some of the attractions are: a hot bath in the middle of the frozen lake, nightlife bars made entirely of ice, and even a concert hall, all made with ice.
