Takeshita Dori (or Takeshita Street) is a crowded, 400-meter long street lined by fashion shops, boutiques, cafes, and fast food chains that targets Tokyoite youth. It is said to be the place of origin of Japan's fashion trends.
It is one of the many shopping destinations in Shibuya. In weekend, teenagers gather here to showcase cosplays and lolita fashion.
Takeshita is just one of the many popular spots for shopaholics in Harajuku. You can also explore Omotesando Hills, Daiso (100-Yen Shops) and other shopping centers around Shibuya.
Get off to Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line, two stations south of Shinjuku and one station north of Shibuya (140 yen from either station).
Bring a lot of patience due to the crowd and your prowess in shopping!
Make sure not to skip trying crepes.
